Bible Friday 8/30: Sedition

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 16:1-11. Verse 11 KJV, path of life. What are three things I can do today to make sure I am walking in that path with God?

Joshua 18:1-28. Verses 8-10, surveyors’ report on the Promised Land. By analogy, what’s my best guide to the “geography” of the Kingdom of God? What difference does it make to me right now?

Acts 24:1-9. The glib prosecutor’s indictment against Paul is easy to imagine in any courtroom today. What is my church doing to prepare members for the mounting hostility against Christians? My role?

Mark 15:42-47. Related question, considering the risk this prominent man Joseph took in going to Pilate, what risk have I ever taken for Jesus? Or might I have to take soon, the way things are going?
