Bible Tuesday 9/24: Making Sure

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 78:1-72. Verses 7 and 8, thinking about my family heritage, what are the more godly and less godly examples handed down to me? Which am I following? What’s in my favor besides will power?

Judges 19:1-30. Rape and murder, atrocities unpunished. Israel’s moral anarchy worsens. Verse 30, consider of it and take advice. What makes America think we can be good without God?

II Corinthians 4:1-18. Verses 4-6, how goes the struggle of light and darkness within me at present? Where will I encounter darkness in my surroundings today? How shall I shine into it the light of Christ?

Luke 7:18-35. Verse 28, the humblest kingdom citizen outshines the greatest earth citizen. Where’s my citizenship? How will it be evident to others today?
