Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 107:1-43. Verses 6 and 8, what are some experiences of answered prayer that I’ve had, on which to build my confidence of God answering today’s prayer as well?
I Chronicles 9:1-44. Verse 39, appearance of Saul, the future king. Whom have I seen fail and fall in their obligations to God? Application to my own present circumstances?
II Corinthians 10:1-11. Verses 3-5, spiritual warfare. Not in the wider world, but within my own heart and mind, what does this require of me today?
Luke 9:18-27. Verse 23, what specifically does self-denial look like for the person I am and desire to be? What does taking up my cross look like, here and now?
