Bible Saturday 1/11: Labor of Love

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 31:1-24. Verses 12-15 KJV, when have I felt broken, slandered, persecuted? How did God show up? Present application?

Deuteronomy 10:1-22. Verse 16, circumcising the heart. What is there of my innermost hidden self that God wants me to cut out and cast off today? How do I know that’s worth doing?

Hebrews 6:1-12. Verse 10 KJV, what labor of love can I do for God and his people today?

Matthew 4:12-17. Verse 17, how can I show others today—without talking about it—that the kingdom of heaven is at hand?
