Bible Saturday 11/28: How God Governs

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 77:1-20. Verses 4-7, God hears our complaints. Of what shall I complain to him today? Or had I better not?

Isaiah 33:1-24. Verse 22, God combines in himself all three branches of government. Why do we humanly separate them, if they are divinely blended? How does this inform my approach to politics?

Revelation 8:1-13. Disasters of the first four trumpets. What am I to do, my family, my church, if things in this world get much worse before they start to get better?

Luke 21:10-19. Verse 17, related question, how is this now beginning to take shape? Verse 19, moment to moment on this day, what does Jesus expect of me in possessing my soul in patience?
