Bible Friday 4/3: Me, Tithe? Now?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 78:41-72. Verses 52-55, as a sheep under God’s care, what’s the right way for me to approach this emergency? The wrong way? Action point for today?

Lamentations 1:1-22. Verse 1, think of the TV images of New York’s deserted streets. Verses 18-20, how have America’s Christians saddened God in recent times? What can we now learn from the pandemic?

I Corinthians 9:19-27. Verses 24-27, related question, how can the current ordeal forge me into a better Christian soldier?

Matthew 23:23-39. Verse 23, amid economic uncertainty and distress, what’s to become of my tithing to the Lord? What else besides contributing money is Jesus demanding of me here?
