Bible Wednesday 5/20: To Know the Way

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 46:1-11. Verses 3 and 4, what attitudes and actions today will locate me closer to the river of God and safely away from the stormy waters of this virus emergency?

Ezekiel 40:1-49. A mystic vision of the house of God. How can I be of use to him today in bringing to our chaotic world a bit more of the perfection, order, and beauty His kingdom will unveil?

Ephesians 2:1-10. Verses 3 and 10, what worldly ways have I put off in favor of Christly ways as God’s grace has worked in me? What’s unfinished in my spiritual growth, what’s next? Action point for today?

John 14:1-11. Verse 6, the only way, the only truth, the only life. What’s one practical thing I can do today to be more like Jesus—and do it again tomorrow and keep doing it every day from now on?
