Bible Saturday 6/27: Road to Gaza

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 139:1-24. Verses 14-16, what specifically did God know and see about me before I was ever conceived? Is this complete knowledge that he had of me still true today? Of what value is it to me right now?

I Samuel 26:1-25. David again spares Saul. When have I restrained myself (or failed to restrain myself) from taking unfair advantage? Why are situational ethics wrong? Why is the Golden Rule right?

Acts 8:26-40. Verses 30 and 35, who is part of the way along toward knowing Jesus, that I could help in taking the next step, today or some day soon?

Mark 4:13-20. What would be some markers others could notice in me, showing I am a fruitful Christian? What “soil prep” shall I work on this summer, in order to show Jesus a rich harvest this fall?
