Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 9:1-20. Verses 4, 8, 16 KJV, God the ultimate judge. On what issues are human judges failing all of us at present? How can I help bring those issues before God’s high court of appeal?
II Samuel 2:1-32. Civil war among God’s people. If he permitted this or even ordained it, why? Where is God right now in 2020 as Americans are almost literally at swords’ points with one another? My duty?
Acts 10:24-33. Verses 30 and 31, when have I had an angel-like experience? When have I had my prayer answered so clearly it almost seemed a spoken voice? On what urgent matter do I long for that today?
Mark 6:1-13. Verses 3-5, familiarity breeds contempt. In what way am I tempted to take Jesus for granted, or treat the Bible as old news? Is Satan even now beguiling Americans to undervalue our founding principles?
