Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 45:1-17. Verses 3 and 5, who or what needs to be struck down right now by the sword and arrows of King Jesus? What am I to do when his dominance of the battlefield seems in doubt?
II Samuel 16:1-23. Verse 11, David meekly endures the cursing and stoning by Shimei. What’s the lesson for me as a Christ-follower amid all the current anger and animosity?
Acts 15:1-12. Verses 5 and 11, how does the pharisaical approach conflict with the Jesus approach in my church at present, or even in me? Action point?
Mark 9:14-29. Verse 24, as best I can tell, where is the tipping point between belief and unbelief in my own Christian life right now? What opportunity have I today to tip a little more toward fully trusting Jesus?
