Bible Friday 8/7: Unmoved

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 91:1-16. Verses 9-12, what do I most desire God’s angels to do for me today? How will I become aware of their presence with me?

I Kings 12:1-33. Verses 27-30, as Israel splits, religion is pressed into the service of politics. How do we see this occurring at present? What is my church doing about it? My role?

Acts 20:17-38. Verse 24, none of these things move me. How does Paul’s attitude of prioritizing Christ above all else find application in my life this very day?

Mark 12:41-13:2. Verse 43, related question, how does the widow’s example of sacrificial giving challenge me to another level of generosity with my time, talent, and treasure?
