Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 127:1-5. Verse 1, what important matter have I been taking too much upon myself and entrusting too little to God?
II Kings 7:1-20. God routs the enemy and ends the famine; death of a doubter. Related to the previous question, when have I risked severe consequences by failing to believe the Lord’s promises?
Job 2:1-13. Verse 11, who is going through a bad time right now, that I could encourage as a friend and fellow believer? Action point?
Luke 3:23-38. What’s the spiritual value or lesson for me in the Bible’s record of Joseph’s ancestry back to Adam, in that Joseph was not really Jesus’ father? Application for today?
