Bible Wednesday 8/26: Heartbreak

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 138:1-8. Verse 6 KJV, why does God want us to be lowly, not proud? In which group would the neighbors on my street place me?

II Kings 9:1-37. Jehu brings God’s punishment upon Jezebel. Is the righteous anger of the Lord taken seriously in my church?

Job 4:1-21. Eliphaz seems to blame the victim. When have I experienced this, or pronounced it on others? What says God?

Luke 4:16-22. Verses 18 and 19, six ministries the Holy Spirit requires of Christians. On which of them could my church be doing more? My role?
