Bible Wednesday 9/2: Ultimate Pandemic

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 5:1-12. Verse 3, what can make my morning prayer more pleasing to God today than it was yesterday?

II Kings 16:1-20. Verse 10, Ahaz imposes a mixed religion upon Judah. If we’re not vigilant, what ungodly elements may get smuggled into the life of my church, or into my own Christian life? Antidote?

Job 9:1-35. Job despairs of reasoning with God. Is this a fitting or an unfitting attitude for someone today who has been saved by Jesus Christ? When have I seen someone bear awful adversity with unshaken faith?

Luke 5:27-32. Verse 31, what symptoms identify the sickness of soul which Jesus the Great Physician alone can treat? Looking around, are some infected and some not, or is it a universal pandemic?
