Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 36:1-12. Verse 8, what specifically are the food and drink that I can enjoy today in God’s house, God’s river, and nowhere else?
Job 20:1-29. Zophar’s unjust verdict on Job. When have I committed, or received, the injustice of blaming the victim? What did I learn?
II Corinthians 1:8-14. Verse 11 KJV, helping by prayer. Who especially needs my intercession today? How can I keep my prayer list from becoming rote?
Luke 7:18-23. When have I regressed from trusting Jesus to doubting him? How can what I learned from stumbling spiritually, be used now for others’ benefit?
