Bible Thursday 9/10: Weigh Anchor

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 26:1-12. Verses 1 and 11 KJV, what does being a person of integrity require of me, both morally and spiritually? What’s one specific thing I can do to live this out today?

II Kings 24:1-20. Fall of Jerusalem leads to the Jews’ captivity in Babylon. Suppose things get much worse for America, what are God’s people to do? Suppose things get better, do we then need God less?

Job 17:1-16. Verses 1 and 13, Job regards the grave. Verse 9, Job unbowed. If told I didn’t have long to live, what would be my legacy as one of God’s faithful? Action point?

Luke 6:43-49. Verse 45, likening my heart to a treasury, what riches of God have I stored up there? For whose benefit and in what manner shall I put them to use today?
