Bible Saturday 9/19: What's Freedom For?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 51:1-19. Verse 17 KJV, if I go through this day with a broken and contrite heart, what would that look like to others and to God?

Job 26:1-14. Verse 14, if I admit with Job that we know and understand God only in part, what’s the action point from that?

II Corinthians 3:12-4:6. Verse 17, often quoted and too often misapplied. As a follower of Jesus, what do I think freedom is for? How does this (or how should it) guide me as a voter and citizen?

Luke 9:28-36. What qualities in Peter, James, and John fitted them alone to go up and see Jesus transfigured? Why did the Father want his Son to talk with Moses and Elijah? Application for my day?
