Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 68:1-35. Verse 28, what specifically is weak in me that I pray God will strengthen today?
Job 31:1-40. Verse 33, how might I, unless vigilant, repeat the sins of Adam today? What does God expect of me instead?
II Corinthians 7:2-12. Verse 10, when have I experienced the godly sorrow that leads to repentance? Who is spiritually close enough to me to engage in that kind of mutual accountability?
Luke 8:40-56. Verse 47, if I went way out of my comfort zone to get closer to Jesus today, what exactly would that look like? What’s the risk? What’s the reward?
