Bible Saturday 1/23: Jesus and the Leper

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 63:1-11. Verse 3, if I really believe God’s love is better than life, how would that show up in the way I think and act from day to day?

Genesis 23:1-20. Mourning Sarah, Abraham buys her a tomb. What does God want me to learn by transmitting this detailed story across the millennia? Is burial just a custom or something holy?

Hebrews 11:30-40. Verse 38 KJV, why did God’s heroes and heroines throughout salvation history bother with the world, if it wasn’t worthy of them? Application for me today?

Matthew 8:1-4. What opportunity is before me today, or one day soon, to act with the kind of counter-cultural compassion and courage that Jesus showed in touching the leper?
