Bible Tuesday 1/19: Ransomed and Redeemed

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 49:1-20. Verse 7 KJV, what practical difference will it make in my day today, that Jesus ransomed and redeemed me, something he alone could do?

Genesis 19:1-38. Verses 17 and 26, what spiritual lesson is there for me in God’s warning to go straight on and not look back?

Hebrews 9:1-10. Verse 8 KJV, the way into the holiest of all. When in the fulness of time Jesus came and declared himself the Way, what did he intend for me to do with that on an ordinary day like today?

Matthew 11:20-24. Related, observing the way I live my life, and looking ahead to the judgment, does Jesus see me in the more favorable position of Sodom or the more perilous position of Capernaum? Prayer point?
