Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 90:1-17. Verses 9-12, if I could have back some of the years of my life to live over, what would I do differently? Since I can’t, is there compensation from God? How can I make this my best year ever?
Genesis 37:1-36. Cruelty of Joseph’s brothers to him and their father. Where is God in this story? What’s the lesson for my experience at present?
Hebrews 13:18-25. Verses 19 and 20, if the blood of Jesus is making me better able to do God’s will today, how will that show? How would others notice?
Matthew 11:1-19. Verses 16 and 17, how am I susceptible to the childish mood swings Jesus dismisses here? Verses 3-6, how does this declaration by Jesus put my discipleship on a better footing?
