Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 24:1-10. Verses 3 and 4, how can I come anywhere close to this kind of spiritual composure and fidelity in a world where everything seems to be going wrong? What’s an achievable goal for today?
Genesis 9:1-29. Verses 13-15, when have I experienced God’s rainbow in a storm cloud, his goodness superseding adversity? Present application in my life and in our world?
II Peter 2:1-5. Verse 5, Noah the preacher of righteousness. If given my church’s pulpit tomorrow, what would this mighty man of God tell us about how to watch, how to pray, how to prepare, how to prevail?
John 2:12-25. Verse 17, the zeal of God’s house. If I began experiencing this, what would others notice about the way I’d think, speak, and act?
