Bible Friday 10/8: First Things First

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 97:1-12. Verse 10, if you love God, hate evil. How can I actively obey this today? In so doing, what keeps hatefulness out of my character?

I Chronicles 15:1-29. What is the lesson for me, as a follower of Jesus, in David dancing before the Ark of the Covenant, and in Michal despising him for it?

Ephesians 2:1-13. Verse 10, what are some of the good works that the Father and the Son have specifically ordained me to perform on this day—and in the years of life that are ahead of me?

Luke 12:22-34. Verse 31, what are some of the “things added” that I tend to seek for their own sake, rather than seeking first the kingdom of God?
