Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 115:1-18. Verse 14 KJV, God promises to increase me and my children. Increase us how? What would that look like? Wouldn’t I be selfish to desire it?
I Chronicles 23:1-32. David organizes the Levitical priesthood. What was God’s replacement for this in the New Testament and ever since? What has it to do with me, with today?
Ephesians 5:15-21. Verse 19, why is sacred music important to God? What does he want from me in the way of making melody to him?
Luke 14:15-24. Verse 18, what excuses have I been making to Jesus? Dropping those, what does he want me to be up and doing in his service?
