Bible Thursday 10/28: The Question

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 144:1-15. Verse 1, what lessons in fighting do I need from God? What does my fight today consist of?

II Chronicles 6:1-42. Solomon, dedicating the temple, asks God for if/then mercy to Israel. What is the “if” God wants from me today, if I am to receive the “then” of his care?

Philippians 4:2-9. Verse 8, where did my thoughts and words yesterday fall short of this standard? How shall I specifically go about doing better today?

Luke 18:18-23. Verse 22, a year from now, if I want to be less invested in earthly things and more invested in heavenly things, what course of action must I begin to follow day by day?
