Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 118:1-29. Verses 6 and 7 KJV, how does “having God on my side” keep from becoming just a license for self-will? Prayer point for today?
II Chronicles 13:1-22. Verse 10, King Abijah warns the northern tribes not to fight against God. What are some current political issues that really grow out of spiritual issues? What is my church doing about them?
Colossians 2:10-17. Verse 14, what are some accusations or condemnations that Satan makes against me, which are rendered null and void by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross?
Luke 19:28-40. The multitude acclaim Jesus on Sunday, though by Friday some will want him killed. Are there emotional, superficial, or selfish elements in my love for the Lord, destined to fall away under pressure?
