Bible Saturday 3/6: On This Rock

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 16:1-11. Verse 4, what false gods subtly try to lure me away from the one true God? How can I become more vigilant against them starting today?

Proverbs 15:1-33. What important matter is before me right now, for which I should seek good counsel? Whom should I turn to for that?

Romans 9:27-33. Verse 33, why is it that Jesus, my cornerstone, seems a stumbling-stone to some persons I’ve tried to reach with the gospel? What’s to be done?

Matthew 16:13-20. Verse 18, how can it be that when I look around at present, Jesus’ church appears to be losing ground as the gates of hell gain ground?
