Bible Saturday 4/3: Not Forsaken

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 91:1-16. Verse 11, on this day “in between,” as we grieve Jesus’ crucifixion and wait on tiptoe for his resurrection, if I could feel God’s angels close to me, what would I ask from them?

Zechariah 14:1-12. Verses 3 and 4, the Lord victorious on the Mount of Olives. If this could be foretold 500 years before Jesus’ time, as long as from Luther to Biden, how can I fail to trust God’s good plan for our own turbulent century?

John 19:38-42. Nicodemus, the doubtful seeker of John 3, becomes the brave disciple of John 19. Whom do I know that may be ready to accept Christ crucified with my help one day soon?

Matthew 27:62-66. Why are the worldly powers, forever and even now, so determined to “cancel” the good news that Jesus rose from the dead? What am I doing day by day to stand against that?
