Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 69:1-36. Verse 5, what does God know about my sins and shortcomings that nobody else knows? What does he expect me to do about them today?
Zechariah 11:1-17. Verses 12 and 13, thirty pieces of silver. When have I been tempted to trade away the infinite riches of Christ for a paltry material gain? Application for this day?
Luke 20:9-19. Verse 18, how have my times of brokenness prepared me to benefit from Jesus’ death on the cross, this week as never before?
Matthew 26:1-16. Verse 13, why did Jesus say this woman’s adoration of him would be part of the gospel forever? How can she bring about a change in the way I think and act today?
