Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 33:1-12. Verses 5 and 11, what sorrow or sadness shall I ask God to turn into joy for me today? Am I open to more than one way of that happening?
Proverbs 22:1-29. Verse 28 KJV. what landmark of my spiritual heritage, unfashionable these days, must I be determined to preserve?
Romans 12:9-21. Verses 9, 17, and 21, how does the worldly mind of our times distort or invert God’s true definition of good and evil? What can I do about it?
Matthew 19:1-12. What is my church doing about the divorce epidemic? Verse 10, how would I answer a young person who tends to agree with the disciples that Jesus’ teaching here is just too hard?
