Bible Thursday 5/27: The Test

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 69:1-36. Verse 5, when I confess to God of my foolishness, what am I referring to? Verse 6, when I pray to never reflect badly on God’s faithful ones, what does that involve?

Leviticus 3:1-17. What are some sacrifices I’ve made to God in my life? Is there a still greater sacrifice I could set out to make for him? How can I know whether or not he is pleased with it?

I Corinthians 14:34-40. How can I know if a particular passage of Scripture is culturally conditioned and now inoperative, or God’s unchangeable commandment?

John 10:11-21. Verse 12, in America with all its problems right now, when we as Christians listen to the many contending voices, what do we hear the wolf saying? What’s the hireling say? What’s the shepherd say?
