Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 96:1-13. Verse 9 KJV, beauty of holiness. How can I concretely experience and express this today, glorifying God in all things?
Leviticus 16:1-34. Scapegoat and yearly atonement. What spiritual self-help measures have I tried or seen others try, vainly attempting (without Jesus) to get into right relationship with God? Action point today?
Acts 5:33-42. Verses 40-42, what price of suffering as a follower of Jesus have I paid so far? What has been the cost of discipleship to me? Have I underpaid?
Mark 1:21-28. Related question, have I been taking Jesus less seriously than he is taken by the unseen powers that hate and fear him? What’s the consequence to me if so?
