Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 42:1-11. Verse 9, when have I felt forgotten by God? What did I learn? Present application?
Numbers 27:1-23. Clarifying the laws of inheritance. Does the Bible as a whole take a private approach to property and ownership, or a communal approach? Or is that outside the scope of God’s word?
Acts 19:1-10. Is baptism in Jesus’ name of great importance to me and my family, of lesser importance, or not important to us?
Mark 10:23-31. Verse 30, if persecution is to be my reward for an all-out commitment to Jesus, why commit? If indeed I do so, what form is the persecution likely to take? How should I prepare?
