Bible Wednesday 8/4: Teachable

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 86:1-17. Verse 11, what are the methods and aids by which God teaches me about himself? What all is required of me today as a learner under his hand?

Hosea 9:1-17. Rebellious Israel finds that the wages of sin is death. How are unfaithful Christians experiencing the same at present? Role of my church?

Acts 26:19-32. Verse 28, whom do I know that is “almost persuaded” of the gospel? How can I do my part in helping get them all the way there? First step today?

Mark 14:12-21. Verse 21, woe to that man. Did Judas have a choice, or was betrayal his destined part in the drama of Jesus’ passion? What weakness do I tend to excuse in myself, saying “I’m just that way”?
