Bible Sunday 9/5: Weight of Glory

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 17:1-15. Verse 15 KJV, what is there in my life that I’m dissatisfied with right now? What would it look like to find all my satisfaction in God?

Judges 3:1-31. Ehud’s dagger, death to tyrants. Verse 20, was the Israelite wrong in telling the Moabite his stabbing was a message from God?

II Corinthians 4:16-5:11. Verses 16 and 17, when have I experienced God’s renewal of my inner selfhood even though my outer situation was grim and hard? Present application?

Luke 7:11-17. Jesus raises the widow’s dead son. What about all the other burials occurring that same day? What about all the deaths this very day as Christians gather at church? Is God’s healing selective?
