Bible Thursday 9/30: Ask, Seek, Knock

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 78:1-40. Verses 18-20, when have I doubted that God was willing or able to provide for me? What did I learn? Present application?

I Chronicles 7:1-40. God’s honor roll of ancient names, continued. If they mattered to him enough to record their names in Scripture, what does that say about how much I matter to him?

Galatians 4:8-20. Verse 19, what persons played a key role in “birthing” me as a Christian? How can I show my gratitude to them, and to God, here and now?

Luke 11:5-13. What are some factors that make me hesitant to go all out with an ask-seek-knock approach to God’s generosity? Have I really anything to lose from doing so?
