Bible Tuesday 9/14: Every Knee, Every Tongue

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 37:1-40. Verse 7 KJV, what does it mean to rest in the Lord even on my busiest of days? How do I do it? What’s the result?

Judges 12:6-15. Verse 6, a password to live or die in Israel’s civil war. As Americans bitterly take sides, what word of reconciliation can we offer as followers of Jesus? My church’s role?

Philippians 2:1-11. Related question, how can the Cross bridge today’s political dividing lines and cool society’s inflamed passions? My role?

John 3:11-17. Verse 16, related again, when a newcomer enters my church, is this message of Christ crucified and risen the most memorable thing they hear and see—or something else?
