Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 56:1-13. Verses 3 and 4, what has been striking fear into my heart recently? What is God’s specific response to that?
Deuteronomy 22:1-30. Verse 4, cited by Jesus in restoring a woman’s health. Verse 22, overruled by Jesus in saving a woman’s life. What specific opportunity can I find this week to show Christlike mercy to someone?
Hebrews 10:11-25. Verse 25, what’s lost when Christians become lax about assembling together, on pretext of the pandemic, technology, other priorities, etc? How is my church doing? How am I doing?
Matthew 8:1-13. Is my faith in Jesus’ authority over all things in heaven and earth, as great as the faith of this pagan soldier? What steps can I take to grow my faith toward that standard?
