Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 78:1-40. Verses 5-8, what was done well and done poorly by my parents in handing on the faith to me? By me in handing it on to my children? How can my church do better on this?
Deuteronomy 31:1-30. Verses 7 and 8, what trial am I facing right now, in which I especially need God’s command of courage and his promise of support?
Hebrews 12:18-29. Verse 26-28, how can I establish my residency today not in a shakable kingdom but in an unshakable one? In what form does the shaking come upon us at present?
Matthew 9:27-38. As God’s harvest proceeds right now, am I one of his laborers or just a spectator? What evidence can I show?
