Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 77:1-20. Verse 11, facing the challenges of today, what experiences of God’s care shall I remember with gratitude and trust?
Deuteronomy 29:1-29. Verse 18 KJV, a root of gall and wormwood. Is there any such poisonous parasite within me today? How shall I move to rip it out and cast it from me, with God’s help?
Hebrews 12:1-11. Verse 4, what sin does God particularly require me to strive against at this point in my life? If I, in so doing, resist unto blood, what would that look like?
Matthew 9:14-17. If I took seriously that Jesus is the bridegroom of my salvation, how would I act differently today? If I viewed the Christian life as a new coat to put on and new wine to preserve, would that change me?
