Bible Wednesday 1/26: Thanks, but No Thanks

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 69:1-36. Verses 2 and 14 KJV, sinking in the mire. In what way at present am I stuck, bogged down? What would it look like today for God to start getting me unstuck?

Deuteronomy 26:1-19. Firstfruits and tithes. What expressions of generosity, financial and otherwise, does God want from me? How can I take that to the next level, starting today?

Hebrews 11:17-22. Abraham offers up Isaac. What is the hardest test of sacrificial giving God has ever asked of me? What did I learn? Present application?

Matthew 8:28-34. Verse 34, if Jesus showed up at my church this Sunday, what might be some reasons people would soon be asking him to go elsewhere?
