Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 46:1-11. In my life right now, or in our world, what feels like a storm, a flood, or an earthquake from which I must seek refuge in God?
Isaiah 22:1-25. Verse 13, how does the fatalism that says this life is all there is, make the most of it, find a subtle foothold with me? What is God’s remedy?
Revelation 3:1-13. Verse 8, what is the open door that Jesus has set before me today? What does he now expect me to do about it?
Luke 20:1-8. Jesus exposes the Jewish leaders’ moral cowardice. Do today’s Christian leaders stand for truth or blow with the wind? What is my church doing about it?
