Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 63:1-11. Verse 3, if I truly believe, as David says here, that God’s lovingkindness is better than life, how would this prove out in my attitudes and actions?
Isaiah 27:1-13. Verse 6, what fruit does God expect of me today? How shall I set about producing it?
Revelation 6:9-17. Verses 9-11, God avenges the blood of his martyrs. What has it cost me up to now to follow Jesus? How can I imagine that cost increasing soon? How shall I prepare?
Luke 20:45-21:6. A widow donates her all for love of God. Who do I know that exemplifies sacrificial giving for the kingdom? How can I be a little more like that person today?
