Bible Tuesday 12/13: Barabbas Acclaimed

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 105:1-45. Verse 4 KJV, what’s involved for me to not only seek God today, but specifically to seek his face? How do I go about this? What do I hope to find?

Isaiah 48:1-22. Verse 4, the obstinacy of fallen humanity. When have I been slow to learn, wearying God, trying his patience?

Revelation 17:7-18. Verse 14, worldly powers making war on the Lamb, who overcomes them. What evidence of this do I see in my immediate experience at present? What’s my role?

Luke 23:13-19. Verse 18, why have those same worldly powers down through the ages preferred that the bloody insurrectionist be spared and the Prince of Peace be cancelled? How does Christmas illustrate this?
