Bible Wednesday 3/2: Love Shows Up

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 32:1-11. Verses 5-7, David’s prayer of confession. What act of dishonor, disobedience, or defiance toward God do I most need to confess as we enter the penitential season of Lent?

Jeremiah 15:1-21. Verse 16, eating up God’s word. What biblical truth or promise or story shall I particularly feed upon today?

Romans 12:9-21. Verse 15, who needs me to show up for them today with Christian love, to help make one of life’s high points higher or one of life’s sorrows more bearable? First step?

Matthew 16:1-12. Verse 3, what tools has Jesus given us for discerning the signs of the times? What is to be discerned in world events of recent months and years? Verse 12, what’s wrong with the Jews’ leaven?
