Bible Saturday 2/12: Gently, Gently

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 106:1-48. Verses 4 and 7, what’s a time when God remembered me even though I didn’t remember him? Present application?

Ecclesiastes 9:1-18. Verses 14 and 15, why is serving my neighbors and my community, even if unnoticed and unthanked, worthy in God’s sight?

Romans 4:13-25. Verses 17-21, do I firmly believe God’s promises made in the Bible about life and death, or do I stagger at them? What control do I really have over my own weak or strong faith?

Matthew 12:15-21. Verse 20, what opportunity can I find today to show this kind of patience and gentleness to someone in Jesus’ name?
