Bible Thursday 3/17: Restoration

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 39:1-13. Verse 7, hoping in God. What false hopes must I stop relying on? Why is God better than all these? Why are God’s rewards worth waiting for, even when the delay seems long and hard?

Jeremiah 30:1-24. Verse 17, what healing do I need to see from God today, for me or someone I care about?

I Timothy 3:8-13. Verse 9 KJV, mystery of the faith. How would I explain this to a non-believing teenager? How is this day made better for me by seeing into the mystery?

Matthew 20:29-34. Verse 32, Jesus’ frequent question to those he meets: “What can I do for you?” What’s my own best (perhaps not obvious) answer to that question today?
