Bible Sunday 4/10: King Jesus Cometh

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 118:1-29. Verse 24, on this day that God has made and given me, what thoughts and actions are called for? What thoughts and actions are uncalled for?

Haggai 2:1-23. Verses 6 and 7, looking at the wide world and my own situation, what evidence is there of God shaking all things? How will this answer the desire of the nations, and show God’s glory?

Matthew 20:29-21:17. Verses 12-16, in what way does God’s church in our times again need a severe cleansing? My role?

John 12:12-36. Verse 31, how do the events of Holy Week, in history and in my own heart, result in casting out the prince of this world, Satan? How is this both a finished and an unfinished struggle?
