Bible Wednesday 5/4: Adam Superseded

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 6:1-10. Verses 6-8, what trouble am I weeping over at present? What assures me that God is attentive and even now responding?

Ezekiel 19:1-14. Israel laments like a caged lion or a withered vine. What’s my church’s reply to the skeptics who say Christianity is in decline, its best days behind us? My role?

I Corinthians 15:20-28. Verse 22, though I can say these words, in all honesty my identity feels like a mixture between Adam and Christ. What’s to be done?

John 5:24-35. Verses 24, 25, 30, hearing Jesus’ voice. What are some ways I can do this today, besides studying the Bible?
