Bible Monday 7/11: Peter's Obedience

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 26:1-12. Verse 2, when God examines my conduct today, what specific pluses and minuses might he find? What does he expect me to do about those?

II Samuel 4:1-12. King Ishbosheth’s soldiers murder him, thinking David will approve. When have I had to choose between revenge and restraint? What did I learn? Present application?

Acts 11:1-18. Verse 17, “Who was I, to withstand God?” When has Jesus taken me way outside my comfort zone? What did I learn? Present application?

Mark 6:45-52. Verses 46-48, as a guess, how did Jesus’ prayer time relate to his walking on the water? Have I been acting lately as if I have less need of prayer time that Jesus did?
